Thomas Presbyterian Church

Below are just a few of the ministries of Thomas Church. We also open our doors to the Boy Scouting program and many others. We believe that we are blessed to be a blessing.

Our deacons offer loving care and attention to those in need. From hope filled visits to our homebound members to support of our local Christian camp, these folks have a special call to ministry.

The Stephen Ministry is a national program in which well-trained members of the church are available to offer care to those who may need someone to walk through a difficult time in life. Their services are completely free and absolutely confidential.

These caring relationships can be last a couple weeks or even years.

All of our Stephen Ministers have had over 50 hours of intensive training, have on-going education, and they work within strict guidelines. They are folks who have a desire and the gifts to listen, pray, and support anyone in need.

If there are circumstances in your life that might be aided by one of these special people, please see either the Pastor or Theresa Craig. The only person that will know you are receiving the gift of a relationship with a Stephen Minister is you, your caregiver and your pastor. There is complete confidentiality.

Day of Caring

Each fall a small army of volunteers gather at church for breakfast, then scatter out in our community to help those in need. They have painted, weeded, repaired roofs among other things. It's not just about the work. It's also about the love of God that we share with those we serve. After work, our volunteers and homeowners are invited for dinner together. What a great day! We have an application process to be considered as a Day of Caring client.

Family Promise

There are times in life when families have no where to turn. We are part of a group of churches in our area who participate in the Family Promise program, giving families who find themselves without homes a second chance in life. Please contact 724-229-1129 for more information about this program or how you can get your church involved.

Monthly Mission Support

Each month we highlight a particular mission and receive congregational support for it. Deciding where our mission dollars go is an elemental part of determining our annual budget. Our hope is that through our gifts, others will be cared for with dignity and love.
